Matisse-inspired colours (Sort of)

Upon request, I have to paint 4 abstract paintings with colour combinations like how Matisse did his.

I tried my best to make a simple abstract painting and this is the outcome. Not very satisfied but I was surprised many people think this is interesting.

Abstract of koi swimming in pond. This is my favourite painting as the koi although not realistically painted, but still look like koi. I also like the overlapping colours of the pond. 

I have 2 more paintings yet to finish. Trying really hard to not do impasto. It's a challenge for me. But I feel I learned some new things every painting I made. =)
